Alba Activities Committee:

The Alba Activities Committee and the Alba Ladies Club have worked hand in hand over the years, planning the Alba Fair, the Christmas Parade, the Easter Egg Hunt for the children, the Fall Festival and the Wild Hog Cook off, along with a Trail Ride that provided for a wonderful charitable contribution to the St Jude Hospital. Check out the upcoming Events for 2007. Additionally, the committee helps to serve food at the Meals on Wheels Fund Raisers.

This fabulous committee has been instrumental when it comes to Supporting Our Troops. Mrs. Beverly Schwed was searching the web one day and ran across a website of "The Military Officers Association of Sarasota" and they mentioned a way to support our troops. Mrs. Schwed did not hesitate, she took action. At the Alba Fair the committee moved about 250 boxes to go to Iraq.

Mrs. Schwed, in talking about the Committee, says "We need new members in our group that care about Alba, I have lived here all my life so far and I read the Mineola Monitor today and was glad to see good things happening in Alba."

Alba Ladies Club

The Alba Ladies Club was organized years ago to assist the community in providing a convenient hometown meeting place in Alba. The Alba Community Center is available for rent for parties, showers, family reunions, etc. and provides the Meals On Wheels team a place to meet and serve meals to the local community.

Our Alba Ladies Club has also developed and offers some really great books on the interesting history of Alba as well as a couple of tasty cookbooks.

The ladies meet the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Alba Community Center and all are welcome to attend and join.
